What is Active Release Techniques?

Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented, state-of-the-art massage technique. The technique is soft tissue system/movement-based and treats many different conditions, resolving them quickly and permanently. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles. The goal of ART is to break down scar tissue and adhesions to help with overall body function. It is effective for acute and chronic injuries to muscle, tendons, ligaments, and nerve entrapments. Benefits of ART include pain reduction, improved range of motion, increased strength and flexibility.

Applicable conditions include: problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, tennis elbow and more.

Who benefits most from ART?

The best success stories often come from those who originally sought ART treatment as a final option. That said, we urge anyone dealing with soft-tissue or nerve conditions to consider ART and its benefits as a first option. Save yourself the emotional, physical, and monetary expense of invasive, risky, costly, and tedious courses of treatment.

Step 1: Diagnosis

The diagnostic process utilizes the practitioners’s hands to identify aberrations in tissue texture, tension, and movement, continuing until the root cause of a condition is determined.

Step 2: Treatment

Once the problem has been identified, the condition is targeted by one or more ART treatment protocols, each combining precise touch with specific client movements to restore proper function and relieve pain. There are over 500 specific treatment protocols unique to ART allowing the practitioner to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting you.

Step 3: Relief

Because the ART system is unique, the results are uncommon. There are no known side effects and most conditions, including strains, sprains, and other musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), are resolved in just five or fewer treatment sessions.
