Alexia’s main areas of focus are anxiety, grief, emotional disturbance, depression, coaching, relationship issues and more. Alexia has a BA (Honours) in Social Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Alexia’s experience spans working with clients in private practice, to working with individuals in the hospital and inpatient psychiatric setting.

Her coursework revolved around the biopsychosocial model and Alexia believes in an integrative approach; the mind-body-spirit connection. Alexia will work with you to help you understand these connections better. She will help foster a truly supportive and warm therapeutic alliance.

Dr. Almeida is the Director of the CARESPACE Health+Wellness Parkinson's Program, a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University, and the Director of the Movement Disorders Research and Rehabilitation Centre. His business experience spans from his start as a car dealer, to running Canada’s third largest rehabilitation and healthcare company operating in five provinces from 108 clinics with more than 1,600 employees. He is an expert in performance management and organizational health. Through his consulting firm Mensura Research, he has successfully worked with client companies in a range of diverse industries including automotive, healthcare, retail, construction, event management, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing.

Gerry earned a Bachelor of Theology from the Canadian Mennonite University, a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor.

Prior to starting CARESPACE Health+Wellness Gerry founded 10 diverse businesses, including three of which have appeared on PROFIT Magazine’s annual list of the top 200 fastest growing companies in Canada. His group of companies included leasing, third-party warranty, new car dealerships, a used car chain and Carsumer.com, which is recognized as Canada’s first e-dealer.

Ousmane is a Bilingual Registered Social Worker. He holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, a Master’s Degree in Psychopathology, a PhD in Sociology-Anthropology and two Postdoctorates in the area of Mental Health. Such interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise provide him with diverse skills and abilities to approach and to better address mental health issues from different clinical perspectives.

He has more than three decades of extensive experience, working as a clinical Social Worker and a Psychopathologist in diverse mental health’s societal and multicultural settings, such as in Psychiatry, Psychology as well as in different communities at the national and international levels. In addition to his many years of practicing clinical counselling and psychotherapy in different provinces of Canada, Ousmane has been leading social and psychological support missions for the victims of genocides in Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Bosnia and Cambodia.

Ousmane is also a scholar, professor, researcher and author who has been teaching in different Canadian Universities where he has been implementing Clinical Social Work and Mental Health programs at the Bachelor and Master’s level and publishing relevant books on mental health including the traumatic genocidal experiences lived by war refugees and survivors.

He remains an Affiliated Professor at the Mauro Centre for Peace and Social Justice (University of Manitoba). Throughout his counselling and psychotherapy practice and career, Ousmane’s work includes (but not limited to) clients such as individuals, couples and families experiencing psychosocial issues and psychological distresses due to conflict, trauma, separation, anxiety, depression, suicide, loss and grief.

Ousmane’s other areas of counselling and psychotherapy cover, among other issues, war refugees and immigrants’ trauma, separations, multiple losses of their families, their loved ones, their psycho-socio-affective relations, their societies and cultures, their countries in addition to their individual and collective cultural bereavement, their post-traumatic stress disorders and their social integration stress in their new host countries. These areas also include, among others, intergenerational trauma, psychological distress of jail inmates, suicide, addictions, different forms of anxieties and phobias concurrent mental health disorders.

The Counselling and Psychotherapy approaches and techniques that Ousmane applies are founded on the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion for a just therapy. Those approaches and techniques, in accordance with the mental issue at stake in the light of the screening and assessment processes, include among others, (but not limited to), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cross-Cultural Therapy (CCT), Externalization Narrative Therapy (ENT), Eclectic Therapy (ET) and Trauma Exposure Therapy (TET). Ousmane, through his professional and life experiences, is committed to the healing of the person as a whole and not to the healing of just the person’s wound.
